I had some difficulty at first getting this to turn on, but that was user error. It is a multi use thermometer. You can use it for meat, when making candy, or like I did for baked potatoes. Very easy to use, clean, and store. The end is sharp so I suggest if keeping in a drawer make sure you keep the protective sleeve on it.
